From a very young age, Mandy has been immersed in the arts.  Parents, June and Collin Gordon of Dyson Studio Australia, have been in the Australian art and ceramic industry since the early 1950s.

“My parents gave me a truly unique artistic environment for my passion to thrive at a young age. Sculpture is something that I was not taught; it was an art form that I grew up surrounded by.”

Mandy graduated from Caulfield Technical College in 1975, specializing in Fine Arts. Working primarily independently from her home studio, she has raised four children. The past 20 years, Mandy’s focus has been producing clay-based sculptures for exhibition at various prominent Australian events such as the Royal Melbourne Show and Sculptures by the Sea (Sydney). Since 2001, Mandy’s works have been highly visible in the ceramics scene throughout Australia and beyond.

Now with over 45 years experience as a sculptor, and as a member of the Association of  Sculptors of Victoria, Mandy has gained international recognition, receiving accolades for her work and requests for both private and gallery commissions.

Mandy’s works are figurative in style and honest in design and construction. She seeks to articulate and commemorate people’s lives, expressions and feelings through the medium of stoneware, terracotta, porcelain clay and ceramics.

“The malleable nature of clay allows me to celebrate the diversity of human spirit and structure, and allows me to produce art that is both unique and distinctly individual in style.”
