Ceramics & Me

“A love and passion for everything ceramics lead me to take up a challenge: to mould clay into life, to become a recognised sculptor and to produce sculptures to call my own.   Hence, in 2003, I decided to give up a 16-year career as a graphic designer and venture into a world of ceramics to pursue my dream.

Through a combination of skills and sculpture techniques which I picked up at the Nanyang Academic of  Fine Art (NAFA),  as well as pottery ‘know-how’ at Sam Mui Kuang Pottery, clay is to become the media of my creations.

My concept, though simple in line, is to breathe life into clay and bring out the character and essence of each individual sculpture.  Human beings, going about life in different movement, action and deed may seem ordinary, but they provide me with the greatest design inspiration.

Brimming with fresh ideas, I am on a journey to pursue and discover for myself and to share with you, my very own emerging works of art.”
